Advanced Color Calibration Enables the Fastest
Support of New Inks and Media for Photo-Capable Printing Devices
Software Imaging Adds Device Photo-Characterization to
the Latest Release of their ColorCore™ Image Rendering Technologies
Oxford, United Kingdom -
June 27, 2006 - Software Imaging is pleased to announce the availability
of ColorCore 2.3, a set of advanced photo imaging and rendering technologies
designed to easily integrate into a wide-range of print imaging solutions.
ColorCore is a photo imaging and enabling technology which
accelerates the delivery of high quality color output on a wide
range of operating systems and hardware platforms. Engineered as
a highly efficient Software Development Kit (SDK) and library,
ColorCore is designed for simple integration into Third Party Drivers,
Raster Image Processors (RIPs), Embedded Printing Systems and
Application Software. Comprising a fully integrated set of advanced
color management and rendering/halftoning tools, ColorCore delivers
stunning photo quality and dramatically exceeds the specifications
of today's OEM solutions.
This latest release of ColorCore incorporates Software
Imaging's patent-protected AutoEZ-Cal technology. Delivered
as an innovative wizard-based utility AutoEZ-Cal significantly
shortens the long but essential process of photo color calibration,
leading to greatly reduced development timescales. Previously available
only through Software Imaging's Sorcerer Driver Development
Kit, AutoEZ-Cal can now be used with ColorCore to generate color
calibrations and characterizations, thereby ensuring consistent
photo-color output on any color printing device.
"Customers have long valued our AutoEZ-Cal technology
as part of our Sorcerer toolkit and we are pleased to bring the
same technology to our ColorCore SDK," says
Jon Williams, Product Manager for Software Imaging. "OEMs
and ISVs can
now deliver market leading quality, advanced color and high performance
screening technologies that exceed the expectations of today's
discerning market."
ColorCore 2.3 also adds Better Ordered Screens (BOS) to
its long list of supported halftoning technologies. The BOS high
speed screen generator allows developers to create the high quality
screens needed to drive next generation print devices.
Other halftoning methods supported by ColorCore include
Software Imaging's patent-pending high speed stochastic screen,
a full featured stochastic screen generator, and an advanced high
speed/high fidelity error diffusion technology.
"ColorCore represents nearly twenty years of
experience in photo color management, photo halftoning and photo
image processing. This technology demonstrates our continuing commitment
to provide our customers with the latest imaging technologies demanded
by today's users," said Tony Harris, Chief
Technology Officer. "ColorCore delivers reliable
and consistent color solutions for OEM's
and ISV's
existing and future technologies."
ColorCore 2.3 is available immediately under license from
